More playing

I had never scanned negatives myself before, that is up until my first film scanner I purchased back in August. It is a decent scanner, but in all honesty I bought it because it was cheap ($109 on sale) and I needed something better than the abysmal HP all in one that came for free when I bought my first laptop back in 06. So when a Nikon Coolscan IV popped up on craigslist for practically free I jumped on it. Not to mention somehow my V330 developed a nasty line that appeared in every image. I got it home and set it all up ready to go and well... its loud. Way louder than any other scanner I have ever used. But when I did holy cow the difference a dedicated scanner makes! Still not convinced that a 10 year old scanner does as well as my brand new Epson flatbed? Check out these two scans:

First off it is 10x sharper. The comparison isn't even close! Not to mention with the Nikon the blacks and white points are better defined yet still have nice detail in them. I love this thing and have so much scanning to do, unfortunately finding a job comes first. Is anyone hiring? Just for kicks here is another scan that I love.
