The only jacket you'll ever need... until you need another.

The other night I finally stopped being late to the party. I watched Bill Cunningham's New York. A fun documentary that had me smiling through most of it. Much different than William Eggleston in the Real World but still very good in it's own way. But I'm not going to sit here and review the film. I reckon I'd be awful at it and there are enough of them in other parts of the internet.

Really what I wanted to mention today was the jacket he wears throughout most of the film. A rather plain blue canvas coat with a few large pockets on the front. It is his iconic piece, so much so it is featured on the front cover of the DVD box art.

Now, if anyone was wondering how to channel their inner Bill and go shoot some street fashion, well here is how you can do it!

It took me a while to track this down, as he mentions in the film that it is the same jacket the street cleanup workers wear in France. And he bought it because it was cheap. But, luckily enough I was able to find where to get them... in France. I'm not sure if the company will ship to the United States. If someone speaks French and is willing to give it a try that would be very nice.

The Jacket is titled "VESTE BASIC COTON SAnFOr" s And retails for only 13 Euro's and some change. Shipping may be another story. Also if I may mention, the model from their site doesn't pull it off quite as well as Bill does.
