The big 100k

About one year ago I set up a small YouTube channel when a user of the Film Photography Podcast (FPP) Flickr group suggested that someone create a video going over the basics of Large Format photography. I took up the task and created a poorly lit, VGA resolution, and possibly the worst sound you will ever hear video talking about it. The video did what I thought was pretty well. Getting about 25 views that first day, a whopper I know.

I continued to post a video here and there, and remember around December when my first video got 100 views. That was exciting. I bought myself a 1080p webcam to celebrate. The quality was much much better, and it attracted new viewers. I then hit my first 1,000 views on one video a short while later.

Now I'm about 3,000 views away from 100,000 total. Not YouTube huge by any stretch of the imagination. However I set out at the beginning of the year to hit that mark by December 31st 2012. And here I am with 2 months to spare about to cross that line.

With starting a new job, and completely ignoring this blog (I know I'm working on it) it hasn't been easy going for the YouTube channel either. I haven't been able to create or upload a video as regularly as I would like. But I continue to truck along, and my interest sways between one social networking tool and the next. I'm hot and heavy into Facebook and Twitter right now as well. But as everything is cyclical inevitably I will begin writing my thoughts down rather than spitting them into a webcam. Until that point comes, I invite you to check out my channel linked below and walk with me as I hit my first major milestone!
