Crummy weather makes for crummy days

I love Portland, don't get me wrong. And there is nothing better than that first rain of Autumn where the smell rises from the ground and entices my senses. But this is getting absurd. Other than yesterday, we have had gloomy skies and rain for what seems like the past 6 months. Is it too much to ask for a break every so often? All I want to do is go out and take some photo's with a little bit of contrast in them. Apparently the gods do not agree.
